Cerberus is a mid-to-late game boss in Galactic Glitch. True to its mythological namesake, this three-headed monstrosity presents a unique challenge where each head must be defeated separately.

Overview[edit]

Cerberus is a massive three-headed construct that guards the deeper simulation layers. Unlike other bosses, Cerberus essentially functions as three mini-bosses in one fight - each head has its own health pool, attack patterns, and must be destroyed individually. The remaining heads become more aggressive as their companions fall.

Combat[edit]

The Three Heads[edit]

Head Color/Type Primary Attack Special Ability
Alpha Head Red/Fire Flame breath, fireballs Enrages other heads when destroyed
Beta Head Blue/Ice Ice shards, freeze beam Slows player when active
Gamma Head Purple/Void Void orbs, gravity pulls Teleports around arena

Attack Patterns[edit]

Attack Description How to Avoid
Triple Breath All three heads breathe simultaneously Find the gap between breath cones
Head Slam Individual head lunges at player Dodge sideways, punish during recovery
Coordinated Assault Heads attack in sequence Learn the pattern: Fire → Ice → Void
Desperation Frenzy When one head remains, attacks wildly Constant movement required

Phases[edit]

Phase 1 (3 Heads Active):

  • All heads attack independently
  • Slower, more predictable patterns
  • Focus on one head at a time

Phase 2 (2 Heads Active):

  • Remaining heads become faster
  • New combined attacks unlock
  • Destroyed head's element lingers as hazard

Phase 3 (1 Head Active):

  • Final head enters Desperation Frenzy
  • Maximum aggression
  • Arena hazards from both destroyed heads

Recommended Kill Order[edit]

Most players recommend: Beta (Ice) → Gamma (Void) → Alpha (Fire)

  • Beta's slow effect is most annoying
  • Gamma's teleporting makes it unpredictable
  • Alpha's enrage is manageable as the last target

Strategy[edit]

Recommended Loadout[edit]

Tips[edit]

  • Focus one head at a time - spreading damage is inefficient
  • When a head dies, immediately reposition to avoid the lingering hazard
  • The center of the arena is dangerous - stay mobile along the edges
  • Beta Head's freeze can be cleansed by taking fire damage from Alpha
  • Use the Grav Gun to throw debris at exposed heads during recovery

Rewards[edit]

Reward Amount/Details
Boss Orb BO3 (Third Boss Orb)
Credits ~1000
Unlocks Access to Siren confrontation, late-game content

Lore[edit]

Cerberus represents the simulation's "watchdog" - a guardian designed to prevent unauthorized access to core systems. Siren notes that Cerberus was created specifically to stop entities like the player from reaching her. The three heads may represent different aspects of the simulation's security: destruction (fire), stasis (ice), and containment (void).

Trivia[edit]

  • Named after the three-headed dog of Greek mythology that guards the underworld
  • Each head has its own "personality" in terms of attack patterns
  • Cerberus is considered by many players to be the hardest boss before Siren
  • The order you kill the heads affects dialogue from Siren afterward
