Glass Cannon

Glass Cannon is a high-risk, high-reward Power in Galactic Glitch. It provides a massive damage boost at the cost of taking double damage from all sources.
Overview[edit]
Glass Cannon epitomizes the "risk vs reward" philosophy. The damage bonus is one of the highest in the game, but the doubled incoming damage means mistakes are twice as punishing. This power is favored by skilled players who can avoid damage consistently.
Strategy[edit]
When to Use[edit]
- You're confident in your dodging ability
- You have other defensive powers like Last Hope as backup
- You're doing a "glass cannon" speedrun build
- Boss fights where you know the patterns well
When to Avoid[edit]
- Learning new bosses or areas
- Runs where you're already low on health
- If you don't have healing or survival options
- Levels with lots of unavoidable chip damage
Synergies[edit]
| Power | Synergy Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Last Hope | Excellent | Provides a safety net when you inevitably get hit |
| Radiant Fury | Good | Both reward aggressive low-HP play |
| Fickle Frenzy | Risky | Huge damage stack, but one hit disables Fickle Frenzy |
| Hardened Hull | Defensive | Helps offset the 2x damage taken |
| Hurricane | Good | Dodge-triggered damage synergizes with evasive playstyle |
| Charged Shot | Good | Stacking damage bonuses after dodging |
Anti-Synergies[edit]
- Dicey Disposition - Taking damage loses shards AND hurts more
- High collision damage builds - 2x collision damage is brutal
Tips[edit]
- Prioritize dodge upgrades - Your dodge is your lifeline
- Learn enemy patterns - Knowledge is survival
- Consider your prototype - Shadow (Stealth) pairs well due to cloaking
- Take it early - The damage bonus helps clear rooms faster, reducing overall danger
- Don't panic - One hit won't kill you (usually), but panicking leads to more hits
Trivia[edit]
- Glass Cannon is one of the most iconic "high risk" powers in roguelikes
- The name refers to a cannon made of glass - powerful but fragile
- Speedrunners consider this almost mandatory for fast times
- Combined with Last Hope at Level 3, this is called the "Immortal Cannon" build
See Also[edit]
- Powers - All powers
- Last Hope - Commonly paired defensive power
- Radiant Fury - Similar risk/reward philosophy
- Fickle Frenzy - Another damage boost with a drawback
