Powers are special abilities in Galactic Glitch that modify gameplay and create unique build opportunities. There are over 80 different powers in the game.

Overview

Powers are collected during runs and can be upgraded through GlitchSpace. Each power has three upgrade levels, with Level 2 and Level 3 providing enhanced effects.

Powers by Category

Dodge Powers

Powers that trigger when you dodge.

Power Effect
Hurricane Create a shockwave after dodging, dealing damage to enemies.
Charged Shot Deal increased damage on the shot after dodging.
Evasive Fire Chance to spawn missiles when dodging.
Dodge Mastery Add a second dodge.

Stealth Powers

Powers that provide invisibility and stealth mechanics.

Power Effect
Camouflage Become undetectable when not attacking for a short time.
Cloaking Device Become undetectable when new enemies appear.

Grav Gun Powers

Powers that enhance throwing objects with the Grav Gun.

Power Effect
Fireball Thrown objects create a fireball on impact.
Pitch and Patch Gain health or shards when a throw kills the marked enemy.
Crunchy Targets Throw damage makes enemies vulnerable to other damages.
Grav Shield Get a shield while holding an object.
Powerful Grav Gun Increase in grabbable mass (Medium Objects).

Damage Powers

Powers that boost your damage output.

Power Effect
Glass Cannon Huge damage boost, but you receive twice the damage.
Backstabber Inflict double backstab damage.
Rage Mode Gain temporary damage boost after taking damage.
Radiant Fury Weapons do increased damage when below half health.
Guns Akimbo Gain temporary damage boost when new enemies appear.
Fickle Frenzy Increases damage. Disabled until next room after receiving damage.

Defense Powers

Powers that help you survive.

Power Effect
Hardened Hull Take reduced damage from collisions.
Last Hope Fires a huge blast and heals you when about to die. One time use.
Quick Shield Gain a shield when charging that can take one shot.
Deflection Matrix Deflect a shot by activating Grav gun before shot hits.
Static Lysst Emitter Provides ship with shield.
Extra Health Big health bonus.

Collision Powers

Powers that trigger on contact with enemies.

Power Effect
Shockingly Close Triggers a big shockwave when colliding with enemies.
Ramming Speed Boost into enemies for damage.
Raging Bull Ram damage enhanced.

Wave Powers

Powers that trigger when new enemies spawn.

Power Effect
First Impression First shot after new enemies appear creates a shockwave.
Missile Spray Launch missiles on each enemy wave.
Immediate Damage Spawned enemies immediately take damage.
Temporal Shift Slows down time as you enter a new sector.
Quick Evasion Get a speed boost when entering a new room or wave.

Utility Powers

Powers that provide various helpful effects.

Power Effect
Helping Hand Spawn a friendly drone after entering a new sector.
Static Field Regularly deals damage to a nearby enemy.
Reprogram Missiles Nearby enemy missiles turn friendly.
Bedlam Enemies do extra damage to each other.
Blanking Out Destroys all nearby enemy projectiles.
Revenge Quickly killing an enemy that damaged you gains shards.
Void Prospector Receive shards when jumping into an enemy sector.
Bargaining Skills Get reduced shop prices.
Dicey Disposition Gain extra shards, but lose shards on taking damage.

Each Prototype has a unique innate power:

Upgrading Powers

Powers can be upgraded in GlitchSpace between levels:

  • Spend resources to upgrade Level 1 → Level 2 → Level 3
  • Can also sacrifice powers for other benefits
  • Upgrade priority depends on build
