Bosses
Bosses are powerful enemies in Galactic Glitch that guard key progression points. Defeating bosses grants Boss Orbs which are required to advance through New Game Plus levels and unlock new content.
Overview
Bosses in Galactic Glitch are divided into two categories:
- Big Bosses - Major encounters with dedicated arenas and multiple phases
- Mini-Bosses - Stronger enemies that appear in regular levels
Each Big Boss drops a Boss Orb on first defeat, which contributes to NG+ progression.
Big Bosses
| Boss | Image | Location | NG+ Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Behemoth | Prologue | NG0 | Ancient war machine. First boss encounter. Teaches basic boss mechanics. | |
| Sphere | Mid-game | NG0 | Enigmatic guardian also called "Heart of the Singularity". Energy-based attacks. | |
| Cerberus | Mid-game | NG0 | Three-headed construct. Each head has unique attacks and must be killed separately. | |
| Siren | Story Boss | NG0 | The AI antagonist in her combat form. Final story boss. | |
| Aegis | Late-game | NG+1 | Heavily shielded defensive boss. Requires mastery of game mechanics. |
Boss Progression
Bosses are typically encountered in this order:
- Behemoth - Prologue/Tutorial completion
- Sphere - After reaching mid-game areas
- Cerberus - Deep simulation layers
- Siren - Story climax (requires 3 Boss Orbs)
- Aegis - New Game Plus content
NG+ Bosses
In higher New Game Plus levels, additional bosses and Glitched variants of existing bosses appear:
| NG+ Level | New Content |
|---|---|
| NG+1 | Aegis unlocked |
| NG+2 | Glitched Behemoth variant |
| NG+3 | Glitched Sphere variant |
| NG+4+ | Additional Glitched bosses, increased difficulty |
Combat Tips
General Boss Strategy
- Learn patterns first - Don't go all-out until you understand the attacks
- Vulnerability windows - Most bosses have moments where they take extra damage
- Use the environment - Grav Gun can throw arena debris for extra damage
- Save dodge for emergencies - Don't spam dodge, save it for dangerous attacks
Recommended Powers
| Power | Why It's Good |
|---|---|
| Glass Cannon | Massive damage boost for quick kills |
| Last Hope | Saves failed attempts, especially useful while learning |
| Hurricane | Dodge-triggered damage adds up over long fights |
| Hardened Hull | Reduces chip damage from unavoidable attacks |
Recommended Weapons
- Railgun - High single-shot damage for vulnerability windows
- Minigun - Sustained DPS for bosses with long exposed phases
- Shotgun - High burst damage at close range
Boss Orbs
Each Big Boss drops a Boss Orb on first defeat:
| Boss | Orb | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| Behemoth | BO1 | NG+1 access (with 3 total orbs) |
| Sphere | BO2 | Additional areas |
| Cerberus | BO3 | Siren confrontation |
| Aegis | BO4+ | Higher NG+ content |
Collecting 3 Boss Orbs triggers the story event with Siren and eventually unlocks New Game Plus.
Mini-Bosses
Mini-bosses are elite enemies that appear in regular levels. They include:
- Elite Drones - Upgraded versions of standard enemies
- Wild Prototypes - Enemy versions of player Prototypes
- Corrupted Guardians - Simulation defense units
Mini-bosses don't drop Boss Orbs but often drop valuable loot like weapon blueprints or rare Powers.
