Corrupted Powers are negative effects in Galactic Glitch that can be obtained from corrupted sources. Unlike regular Powers, corrupted powers give you shards but come with drawbacks that must be cleared.

Overview[edit]

Corrupted Powers are found in:

  • Corrupted Shops - Dark versions of regular shops
  • Corrupted Crates - Special crates with glitched appearance
  • Glitched Enemies - Sometimes drop corrupted items

When you pick up a Corrupted Power:

  1. You get 2 random drops (shards, health, etc.)
  2. A chance to spawn a selection reward (power choice) - this chance increases the more corruptions you take!
  3. The negative effect activates
  4. A clear condition appears showing how to remove it

Risk vs Reward: The more corrupted powers you take, the higher your chance of getting selection rewards. Stacking corruptions is risky but can lead to powerful builds!

How Clearing Works[edit]

Each Corrupted Power has a specific way to clear it:

  • Killing enemies - Kill a set number of enemies
  • Clearing rooms - Complete a set number of combat rooms
  • Instant - Effect happens once and is immediately removed

The counter appears below your health bar showing progress toward clearing.

All Corrupted Powers[edit]

Corrupted Power Negative Effect How to Clear
Armor Erosion Take extra damage from all sources Clear rooms
Corrupted Cohesion All heal pickups restore less health Clear rooms
Gravity Glitch Grav Gun throws deal reduced damage Kill enemies
Handle With Care All crates only have 1 HP (break instantly) Clear rooms
Integrity Loss Lose maximum HP permanently Kill enemies
Motion Dampener Movement speed reduced Clear rooms
Purge Instantly lose a random Power Instant (no clearing needed)
Shard Leech Lose shards every time you take damage Kill enemies
Shorter Dodge Dodge distance reduced significantly Kill enemies
Supply Sabotage Crates more likely to contain traps/bombs Clear rooms
Trade Malfunction Shop prices increased (more expensive) Kill enemies
Weapon Degradation Weapon damage reduced Kill enemies

Strategy[edit]

When to Take Corrupted Powers[edit]

Worth taking:

  • Purge - If you have many powers and can afford to lose one random one
  • Trade Malfunction - If you've already bought what you need
  • Handle With Care - If you don't rely on crates for shields/ammo
  • Motion Dampener - If your build has good mobility powers

Avoid taking:

  • Armor Erosion - Very dangerous at higher Boss Orb Levels
  • Integrity Loss - Permanent HP loss is never worth 150 shards
  • Weapon Degradation - If your build focuses on weapon damage

Clearing Efficiently[edit]

  • Kill-based clears are faster if you're good at combat
  • Room-based clears are safer but take longer
  • Multiple corrupted powers stack - be careful not to take too many!

Corrupted Sources[edit]

Corrupted Shops[edit]

Special shops with a glitched/dark appearance that only sell Corrupted Powers. They appear randomly during runs, especially at higher Boss Orb Levels.

Glitched Enemies[edit]

Enemies with a purple/glitchy appearance drop corrupted items more frequently. See Glitched Enemy Variants.
