UPs

Upgrade Protocols (UPs) are collectible stat upgrades in Galactic Glitch that provide immediate stat bonuses when picked up. They come in four standard types, each associated with a stat category, plus special Golden UPs available at higher Boss Orb Levels.

Overview

UPs appear throughout combat sectors and permanently boost your stats for the current run:

Stat	Icon	Effect
DESTRUCTION		Increases weapon damage
RESISTANCE		Increases Max HP (Cohesion)
EVASION		Increases movement speed AND fire rate
GRAVITY		Increases throw/grav gun damage

Collecting multiple UPs of the same type provides diminishing returns, encouraging a balanced approach.

UP Mechanics

📉 DIMINISHING RETURNS

Each subsequent UP of the same type provides slightly less bonus, encouraging diversification.

⚡ BONUS POWERS

At 3 and 6 UPs of the same type, chance to receive a bonus Power.

Hub upgrade that provides a chance to spawn an additional UP when collecting one, effectively doubling your UP income over a run.

Golden UPs

Golden UPs are the ultimate form of progression:

• Exclusive to NG+ - Only appear at Boss Orb Level 1 and higher
• 10% spawn chance - Regular UPs have a chance to become Golden
• Unique effects - Powerful abilities, not just stats
• 20 total - 4 unlocked by default, 16 unlocked via Run Challenges
