Sphere (also called the Guardian or Heart of the Singularity) is a mid-game boss in Galactic Glitch. This enigmatic spherical entity guards the deeper layers of the simulation.
Overview[edit]
The Sphere is a mysterious, orb-like boss that floats in the center of its arena. Unlike the physical Behemoth, the Sphere attacks primarily with energy-based projectiles and spatial manipulation. It represents the simulation's more abstract defenses.
Combat[edit]
Attack Patterns[edit]
| Attack | Description | How to Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Orbital Lasers | Spawns rotating laser beams around itself | Move in sync with rotation or stay at specific safe distances |
| Energy Burst | Releases expanding rings of energy | Pass through gaps in the rings or time your dodge |
| Gravity Well | Creates pull zones that drag the player | Boost away from the center, use momentum |
| Shard Storm | Launches multiple tracking projectiles | Destroy with weapons or use cover |
| Pulse Wave | Arena-wide damage pulse | Cannot be dodged - must break shield generators first |
Phases[edit]
Phase 1 (100% - 66% HP):
- Orbital Lasers and Energy Burst only
- Predictable patterns
- Core is frequently exposed
Phase 2 (66% - 33% HP):
- Adds Gravity Well
- Spawns shield generators around arena
- Must destroy generators to damage core
Phase 3 (33% - 0% HP):
- Shard Storm becomes primary attack
- Pulse Wave requires destroying all generators quickly
- Extremely aggressive
Weak Points[edit]
The Sphere's core is its weak point, but it's protected:
- Phase 1: Core exposed during attack cooldowns
- Phase 2-3: Must destroy Shield Generators (4 small orbs) to expose core
- Core glows bright when vulnerable
Strategy[edit]
Recommended Loadout[edit]
- Weapons with good projectile speed: Railgun, Quickshot
- Area damage powers for shield generators: Hurricane, Shockingly Close
- Movement powers to escape Gravity Wells
Tips[edit]
- Learn the Orbital Laser rotation pattern - there are always safe spots
- Prioritize Shield Generators in Phases 2-3
- The Gravity Well can be used to your advantage - it also pulls enemy projectiles
- Save high-damage abilities for when the core is exposed
- Energy Burst rings have consistent gaps - don't panic
Rewards[edit]
| Reward | Amount/Details |
|---|---|
| Boss Orb | BO2 (Second Boss Orb) |
| Credits | ~750 |
| Unlocks | Access to Cerberus arena, new Powers |
Lore[edit]
The Sphere is described as the "Heart of the Singularity" - a core component of the simulation's infrastructure. Siren suggests it's not merely a guardian, but part of what keeps the simulation stable. Destroying it weakens the barriers between layers.
Trivia[edit]
- The Sphere's design is inspired by cosmic phenomena like neutron stars
- It's one of the few bosses that doesn't move from its central position
- Some players call it "The Eye" due to its appearance
