Corruptions
Corruptions (in game: Corrupted power) are negative powers in Galactic Glitch. Each one weakens you until it clears after a number of rooms or kills. You take them on purpose to get rewards. The game has 11 corruptions.
How to get corruptions[edit]
- Corruption rooms offer a choice of 2 corrupted powers (the hub upgrade Corruption Selection adds more; it does not apply in Infinity's Edge). After you take one, the room either drops 2 random rewards (shards, a heal pickup, a Glitch Token or a Glitch Charge) and offers a new choice of corrupted powers, or it gives a big reward: an Upgrade Protocol selection or a selection of Rare and Legendary powers. The chance of the big reward starts at 0% and goes up by 20 points with each corruption you take in a row. The big reward ends the chain.
- Corrupted shops sell items for corruptions instead of shards: buying an item gives you as many random corruptions as its price. Each item has a 50% chance to cost max health instead (2 max HP for each corruption of its price). Resistance Upgrade Protocols always cost corruptions, and Corrupted Upgrade Protocols are free.
- Some Run Challenges start you with permanent corruptions (list below).
You never get a corruption you already have.
Clearing[edit]
Each corruption shows a counter. It clears after you clear a number of rooms or kill a number of enemies, as listed below. The count is the base value: the Corrupted Upgrade Protocol Corrupted Bond makes corruptions last 1.5 times as long. Permanent corruptions from a Run Challenge never clear.
Corruptions cannot be upgraded or sacrificed. In Infinity's Edge they stay at their normal level and do not become Quantum.
All corruptions[edit]
Ranges like 20-40% mean the game rolls the exact value once when you get the corruption. The clear count can be rolled the same way.
| Corruption | Effect | Clears after | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Armor Erosion | Take 20-40% extra damage. | 8-15 rooms cleared | |
| Corrupted Cohesion | All heal pickups heal for 50% less. | 8-15 rooms cleared | |
| Gravity Glitch | Throw does 15-30% less damage. | 18-31 enemies killed | |
| Handle with Care | All crates only have 1 health point. | 8-15 rooms cleared | |
| Integrity Loss | Lose 20% max HP. | 18-31 enemies killed | |
| Motion Dampener | Move 8-20% slower. | 8-15 rooms cleared | |
| Shard Leech | Lose 64 shards on being hit. | 18-31 enemies killed | |
| Shorter Dodge | Less dodge distance. | 18-31 enemies killed | |
| Supply Sabotage | Crates are way more likely to contain traps. | 14-19 rooms cleared | |
| Trade Malfunction | Shop prices are 25% higher. | 18-31 enemies killed | |
| Weapon Degradation | Weapon does 10-20% less damage. | 18-31 enemies killed |
