UPs

Upgrade Protocols (UPs) are collectible stat upgrades in Galactic Glitch that provide immediate stat bonuses when picked up. They come in four standard types, each associated with a stat category. Collecting 3 or 6 UPs of the same type grants a bonus power specific to that stat type.

Golden UPs are unique and powerful versions of UPs that can rarely appear in UP selections. They offer special effects beyond simple stat bonuses.

UP Types and Bonus Powers

UPs appear throughout combat sectors and permanently boost your stats for the current run:

Collecting multiple UPs of the same type provides diminishing returns, encouraging a balanced approach.

At 3 and 6 UPs of the same type, receive a bonus power.

Golden UPs

Golden UPs are the ultimate form of progression:

• 10% spawn chance - Regular UPs have a chance to become Golden
• Unique effects - Special effects beyond the four stat types
• 20 total - 4 unlocked by default, 16 unlocked via Run Challenges

In Infinity's Edge

In Infinity's Edge, Serenity sells one Golden UP for shards in every Glitched Challenge Room; the price rises with depth (256 shards at depth 1, see prices by depth). Symera gives a free Corrupted UP there as well.
