Infinity's Edge Story

Spoiler warning: this page describes the story of Infinity's Edge, including the ending.

The story of Infinity's Edge is told in short dialogues during IE runs. Each one plays once. This page sums them up in plain words.

Story

Something explodes

After the main game is over, Siren is back in the Hub and wants to take a nap. Then something explodes. "That was the upgrade room." The new IE Upgrade Room has appeared.

The first layers

On your first IE level, Solara introduces herself. She calls the level "The first layer. Many more below." On the second level she explains the bar on the right of the screen: it fills as you get close to your limit. Beat the boss at your deepest point, and "The Edge will stretch further."

The seal and the vendors

In the first Glitched Challenge Room, Solara calls it the seal that every layer has. After you break it, she offers the choice: go deeper, or end the run and face a final challenger. Siren notices the free stuff.

At the reward area, Siren meets two old faces. Serenity greets you with "Hello again, little one." Siren is shocked, because Serenity died in the main game; Solara answers "Not in the Infinite." Symera greets Siren as "Stinky Siren herself." From then on, the two vendors trade small jabs about each other's gifts.

Going deeper

• Depth 5: you pass your first limit. Siren and Solara argue about whether anyone doubted you.
• Depth 7: the two argue about whose student you are.
• Depth 8: Solara says it is time for an assessment and fights you herself. Afterwards she says it was only a fraction of her power.
• Depth 9: Solara says you are close to the point where things stop making sense.
• Depth 11: Siren asks what is at the bottom. Solara tells her to be patient.

The gauntlets

• Depth 13: the first gauntlet. Solara calls it the warmup afterwards and says two more trials wait.
• Depth 14: the second gauntlet, with Solara waiting at the end.
• Depth 15: "This is it. The true Edge." Solara says your past awaits: Siren, Serenity and herself. Siren realizes they are "...All versions of me." You fight all three.

The bottom

After the last gauntlet, Solara admits that across infinite realities no one has ever reached the bottom before. She thanks you for the surprise, and tells Siren the two of you can now do whatever you want.
